
Bellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young born on February 19, 1970)[1Bellamy Young is an American actor, producer, and performer, most well-known for her performance as Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama series Scandal (2012-2018). The actress was awarded her 2014 Critics'' Choice Television award for the best actress supporting in an action series. Also, she was an actor in the Fox series Prodigal Son (1919-2021). Young began her acting career in theatre. Her Broadway debut came in 1997, when she played Mary The Life. The Life. [8][9] In addition to making her Broadway debut, she has been seen off Broadway as Mary in Stephen Sondheim's musical Merrily You Roll Along (1994) or Randy Newman's Faust (95-1996). It was her first TV appearance in the role of the character Dr. Courtney Evans in 1995 on the NBC soap opera Another World soap opera. Both in 1997 and 1998 she appeared in two scenes in the show Law & Order. She debuted in a film on the big screen in 1999. She played a minor performance in Black and White, a crime-drama. Later she starred in several independent films. Then, in the beginning of 2000, she started appearing as guest-star in a variety of television dramas and comedies, which included The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. From 2000 through 2011, Young made over 30 guest appearances on television shows.
